Bridging Science, Technology, and Human Empathy.
Hello! I'm Reza Darooei, currently an FCS Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Software Engineering at the University of Bern, supported by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship.
I hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with a thesis on OCT cyst segmentation using deep learning and sparse representations, and an MSc on asthma diagnosis based on sparse basis and breathing patterns.
My research focuses on VR-based blended learning solutions to improve physician-patient communication, particularly for managing distressed children in critical settings. Previously, I worked as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Iran FDA, overseeing medical device and AI system compliance.
My technical toolkit includes Python, MATLAB, C++, C#, JavaScript, Unreal Engine, Unity, and game tools like Daz3D, iClone, and Maya. Whether developing AI models, VR training, or therapeutic games, I thrive on building intelligent, interactive systems that bridge data science, immersive technology, and human care.
